BlahBlahFM.com - A Social Network for Musicians and Music Lovers Demo Listener Profile |
Since I love music and web development is my career, I try to get the two involved together in a productive form. I have two sites that are currently in development, both of which I think could be great for musicians and/or music lovers once implemented fully.
The concept behind BlahBlahFM is twofold. On one side, it is a social network geared towards the musician and the music lover/fan. Artists can create profiles, upload their music and network with other artists, while Listeners can also create profiles, upload music they like, and network with other listeners who have the same interests.
The other side is the random radio on the front page. The point of this would be to have a radio that plays random songs from artists you probably have never heard of and something you may like may entice you into wanting to know more about the artist who created the song or the listener who uploaded it.
The goal of the site is to bring people together through a common thread of music.
The concept of The Bassment Lab is to provide musicians of all levels with a central knowledge base for musical terms, gear, and techniques. By doing so, any musician can find information on a particular microphone, a recording term or technique, or anything music related without having to over-google.
This is particularly useful to the beginning recording musician, who can find information about what mics are useful for certain applications, for example.
