Welcome to my site, mnshyn.com. This site serves as the gateway to all my creative work that's anywhere online. If you need to find my music or website work, you will find links to all of that here.

I would tell you my name, but if you're looking at this site, you already know what it is. Either you're looking at my resume, or I told you to come here. If neither, that's all right. If you really wanted to know I'm sure you can find out.

Music

I've been playing musical instruments since 1991, and have been recording, mixing and producing music since 2000. I've been a part of different bands and rap groups over the years, including Christian Church bands (God's Flock Christian Fellowship in Dumont, NJ), rock bands (The Feebles), Jazz Ensembles (BCC Jazz Ensemble), rap groups (Black and Blue Ink.), and other entertainment collectives (5Families Entertainment, MooN sHizzLe Productions).

As far as instruments, I mostly play guitar and bass, but I can also play drums and piano fairly well. I learned how to play guitar and bass in 1996 and have consistently played both ever since. My production work has given more keyboard/piano experience over the years and my work with the God's Flock band has given me more time to play drums.

Web Development

I was a Computer Science major at NYU. I've been working with web development since 1998. I worked with HTML strictly until about 2004 when I started to create intranet websites for the company I was working for. At that point I started working with PHP/MySQL quite heavily. My background in computer science also allowed me to adapt to ASP and .NET, though I do more work with PHP. I've been a freelance web developer since 2006, creating web sites for myself, groups I was a part of, and other entities (See "My Website Work.").

As of right now, I'm a full-time Web Administrator. Aside from websites I do for the company I work for, I am also configuring and developing our company's new SharePoint intranet site.

I still take on freelance web projects, so please contact me (see link above) if you need a website done.

Who or What is a "mnshyn?"

"mnshyn" is MooN ShynE, without the vowels. My hip-hop pseudonym is "MooN ShynE." It's a name I've had since 2002, and I've shortened it to mnshyn due to the many moon-shyne-like names already in existence.

"Tell me something I don't know. Please."

The statement above isn't to say anything about my intelligence (or lack thereof). I constantly like to learn things, so if there's anything that you know that I don't know that is of any substance, I'd be willing to learn it. Over the years I've taken on the instruments I play and the programming languages I use not just out of necessity but out of curiosity.
